Forza Horizon 5 is a racing video game set in an open world environment based in a fictional representation of Mexico. The game has the largest map in the entire Forza Horizon series, being 50% larger than its predecessor, Forza Horizon 4, while also having the highest point in the Horizon series. The map was described by creative director Mike Brown as one of the most diverse Forza Horizon maps the team has built. The map contains an active caldera volcano, jungles and beaches, ancient Mayan temples, and towns and cities such as Guanajuato. Players can explore the open world freely, though they can also compete in multiplayer races and complete the campaign mode.
Both the cars featured in the game and the player character can be extensively customised. Players are able to create custom liveries and tunes for cars, and perform engine swaps, drivetrain swaps, or install body kits on certain vehicles. The game is the first in the franchise to support ray tracing on cars . Xbox's latest consoles, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, are still about as hard to find as the PlayStation 5. You haven't really missed out on any games if you don't have one though, at least not if you have an Xbox One or a gaming PC.
Microsoft's top exclusives—games like Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite—are playable on all three platforms. It's part of the industry's growing commitment to making games accessible on more than a single system. Microsoft, of course, has taken that commitment even further with Xbox Game Pass, the subscription service that gets you access to over 100 games at any one time, including first-party Xbox games on the date of release. So if you're an Xbox owner, it was exceedingly easy to find good games in 2021, whether you've moved on to the Xbox Series line, are sticking with the Xbox One, or prefer their great grandpappy, the PC. Forza Horizon 5 is a true showcase of the power of the Xbox Series X, and an absolute must for console owners. Playground Games delivers stunning graphics that show off the diverse landscapes of Mexico and the vast library of cars in impressively realistic detail.
With biggest open-world yet, the latest entry in the Forza series gives you so many reasons to get behind the driver's seat time and again, with a wealth of different races, challenges, new social features, and updated modes. With impeccable audio design, smooth, responsive controls, and a beautiful world to speed your way through, Forza Horizon 5 sets benchmark for racing games of this generation. Available as a standalone purchase and through Xbox Game Pass, Gears 5 is the game you'll want to stick on once it's safe to have friends over to your house. Gears 5 launched in 2019 and The Coalition has spent much of the last year optimising its action game for Xbox Series X, working to deliver stunning native 4K graphics and 60 frames per second performance for the game's campaign.
Joc Forza Horizon 5 Pentru Xbox One Si Xbox Series X If you've never played a Gears of War game, Gears 5 is a great place to start and undoubtedly one of the best entries into the series yet. Should your 4K TV support it, there's also 120hz performance modes for multiplayer for a faster, more responsive experience. In July 2019, as part of the Series 11 update, a special Horizon Story was added in collaboration with BBC's Top Gear.
The missions, narrated by presenter Chris Harris, provided players with rewards including the "Track-tor" (a race-modified tractor featured in Series 25 of the show) and the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6. The update also saw the return of class-based Rivals modes from previous games in the series, and the ability to track progress in the Horizon Life menu, as well as several new unlockable cars in the game's Festival Playlist feature. GenreRacingModeSingle-player, multiplayerForza Horizon 4 is a 2018 racing video game developed by Playground Games and published by Microsoft Studios. It was released on 2 October 2018 on Xbox One and Microsoft Windows after being announced at Xbox's E conference. An enhanced version of the game was released on Xbox Series X/S on 10 November 2020.
The game is set in a fictionalised representation of areas of Great Britain. It is the fourth Forza Horizon title and eleventh instalment in the Forza series. The game is noted for its introduction of changing seasons to the series, as well as featuring several content-expanding updates which have included new game modes.
The Forza Horizon games have always played second fiddle to the main series, but in Forza Horizon 4, Playground Games made our favorite Forza game ever. Horizon 4 takes the arcade gameplay and open world of the series to Great Britain, exploring some of England, Scotland and Wales' most beautiful landmarks. All the cars you'd expect are here, but perhaps the most interesting addition is the seasons. You see, the game's enormous map totally transforms with the time year, and with it, so does the way the cars handle.
In December 2020, as part of the Series 30 update, another new game mode called Super7 was added to the game, which came alongside the expanded "Blueprint Builder" feature. In Super7, players have to complete a series of seven randomly selected stunt challenges for rewards. The Blueprint Builder expands upon the Forza Blueprint feature by allowing players to set up ramps, structures and scenery à la the TrackMania series to create their own challenges and share them with the game's online community.
In the following days, a fictional car, known as the 2058 Quadra V-Tech, was included in the game as part of the release of Cyberpunk 2077. The game features a route creator which enables players to create races using completely customized routes. The game takes place in a synchronised shared world, compared to the AI-driven 'drivatars' from its predecessors, with each server supporting up to 72 players. Hop on in and pick from over hundreds of world-class cars and begin your horizon adventure today. Both a stunning technical achievement and a new gold standard for video game storytelling in an open-world setting, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best games Rockstar has ever made, and one of the greatest games ever, period.
While its story is a complex tale of honor, loyalty, and loss woven around rich characters brought to life by nuanced performances, the real star of Red Dead 2 is its world. A sprawling and stunning recreation of the American south and west, it's packed so full of detail that getting from A to B is virtually impossible without going off the beaten path to some other distraction. Forza Horizon 5 is now available to millions of players all over the world, and has quickly established itself as one of the best racing games you can play.
The colossal and expertly engineered open-world racing title from Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios is the latest in the Forza Horizon franchise, a series that has been a staple on Xbox consoles for years. With Forza Horizon 5 taking the series and the genre to all-new heights, however, some are wondering whether FH5 will ever come to PlayStation. DOOM Eternal has a linear level-based structure but comes with post-game modifiers and challenge modes that add variety and replayability.
The game even has a multiplayer feature called Battlemode, pitting two demon players against a single DOOMguy, which may be worth exploring for some players. DOOM Eternal also has a beefy campaign DLC dubbed "The Ancient Gods," with a second part launching in 2021. DOOM Eternal is in a competitive genre, but easily makes the grade as one of the best Xbox games of all time. It's hard to say if Playground Games will be as generous with the lottery rolls in the full release, but each time I spun the wheel, I was rewarded equally with new wheels just as much as new digs for my green-haired racer. At least this kind of gacha won't need any real cash infusions to keep rolling.
That being said, if you did want to throw some extra cash towards time saver DLC, I did spy some treasure maps for purchase to fill your minimap with collectibles to discover across the open world. Forza Horizon 4 isn't just the best Forza game ever made, it's the single greatest car game of the last decade, and maybe of all-time. With its four-season fictionalization of beautiful Great Britain and focus on socially fueled fun rather than hardcore simulation racing, it's the equivalent of a perfect, breezy, 72-degree summer day distilled into video game form.
It has a gigantic, diverse selection of cars , its seasons change the look and feel of the experience, and its soundtrack is bright, cheery, and bound to put you in a good mood. Somehow, Forza Horizon keeps getting better, which seemed all but impossible after the sublime Forza Horizon 3. Metal Gear Solid V – both The Phantom Pain and its precursor Ground Zeroes – is, without question, the most ambitious entry in the Metal Gear series, both in terms of its gameplay mechanics and scattered story.
Featuring what is undoubtedly one of the most complex sandboxes in gaming history, The Phantom Pain gives players a huge arsenal of weapons, vehicles, gadgets, and AI companions to approach missions creatively. As always, stealthy tactical gameplay is rewarded heavily, but if a mission goes sideways (or if you're feeling squirrelly) the game doesn't punish you for getting loud and messy. While the full scope of Hideo Kojima's ultimate vision may have been stymied by creative differences with Konami, Metal Gear Solid 5 is still an absolutely worthwhile adventure for open-world stealth fans. No Man's Sky Next is the story that the entire industry points to when looking for a comback tale and it's well deserved.
Hello Games really does deserve credit because what they've created is beloved by players everywhere. With a global chip shortage affecting next-gen console production, Xbox Series X|S consoles are in short supply, and many of us are still playing on Xbox One. Thankfully, Microsoft released nearly all of its first-party games on its last-gen console in 2021.
With it, you can fire up Xbox 360 and original Xbox titles on your Xbox One. Xbox Backward Compatibility also boosts those games' pixel counts and expands the color details. Even better, if you're playing Xbox 360 games, you can fire up your old game saves, achievements, and Gamerscore. And if you sign up for Xbox Live, you can play those classic games with friends. Playground Games has delivered their latest masterpiece with Forza Horizon 5, which features the series' most diverse map and largest car list yet. Forza Horizon 5 somehow fulfills its ambitious promises to be the best open-world racer right now, and one of the best racing games in general.
This consists of a series of mini-multiplayer games strewn across the map. One of these mini-multiplayer games is called "Piñata pop" where the Horizon Festival's cargo plane drops piñatas. The goal is to pop as many piñatas as they can with the help of other players. It also introduces the "EventLab", a toolset in which players can create custom games, races, and more depending on their personal preference. According to Brown, it is an AI assistant that tracks the current statuses of players, helping them to link with other players online and play together.
Forza Link can also link players' GPS systems if they accept the invitation from another player. Control on the last-gen Xbox is a mixed affair, with the One S struggling a little, but the One X being head-and-shoulders above the PS4 Pro when it comes to fidelity and smoothness. With the launch of the next-gen consoles, an 'Ultimate Edition' emerged which brought the ray-tracing and higher frame rates that PC gamers enjoyed to console players. Although you'll only get those benefits as a next-gen owner, it also includes all the released DLC and is the edition we recommend buying, even if you're not planning to immediately upgrade. Back in February 2021, we shared via Xbox Wire the backward compatibility team developed FPS Boost, a feature employing a variety of new methods for nearly doubling the original framerate on select titles. Higher, steadier framerates make games visually smoother, resulting in more immersive gameplay.
We partnered closely with developers to enhance the experience while maintaining the game's original intent. And while not applicable to all games, these new techniques can push game engines to render more quickly for a buttery smooth experience beyond what the original game might have delivered due to the limitations of the hardware at the time. Destiny 2's new seasonal model was met with a bit of hesitance at first, but what Bungie has delivered is instead a compelling narrative that intertwines story beats from season to season. The fact that it has been added to Game Pass only sweetens the deal bringing more players into the fold. Whether you're looking to push back the darkness with Stasis or just shoot things with cool guns Destiny has proven the test of time and keeps players coming back. Consisting of a free-to-play multiplayer and a campaign mode , Halo Infinite truly revitalizes the series.
It's a fantastic way to deliver a campaign in a racer, adding a great deal of personality to what would have been a very dry single-player experience otherwise. The Xbox brand might never have taken off without the Halo series, the first-person shooters that helped to popularize local competitive multiplayer on consoles before taking the party online after the launch of Xbox Live. The Master Chief Collection package includes multiple Halo games, all of which have been updated to keep them enjoyable for modern audiences. Killer Instinct isn't a title that many gamers expected to be an Xbox One launch highlight, but it's one of the surprise gems in Microsoft's video game lineup. The revived series adheres to the original game's unique blend of manual and auto-combos, which casual and hardcore players use to rack up ridiculous hit totals with a few well-timedcontrolleror fight stick inputs.
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter was my first real taste of Xbox Live and the defining title of my teens. The 16-player team death matches were unmatched at the time, and the single-player campaign was exciting, tactical, and not held down by the cinematic set pieces that bog down many of today's action games. While recent Ghost Recon titles continue to disappoint, my heart will always have a soft spot for this early 360 classic. Minecraft Dungeons is an accessible four-player co-op title with infectious combat that will keep kids occupied for hours on end. It's also a great entry-point into gaming in general, with highly customizable difficulty settings making it suitable for gamers of all ages. While it was a bit slim at launch, the game has grown in content and replayability, making it easily one of the best Xbox games of its time.
Forza Horizon has always been the racing game that everybody can enjoy, but for the fourth outing in the series, it kicked everything up a notch. It's the most ambitious entry yet with a vast shared world experience paired with weekly content updates to keep players entertained week in and week out. In July 2020, the Series 24 update brought a new Photo Challenge feature in the Festival Playlist.
This feature would reward players if they took a photo of the specified car in front of the specified location as set out by the Photo Challenge for that week. Returning from Forza Horizon 3, Wheelspins are prize spins with random rewards ranging from cars, Credits (in-game currency), emotes, horns, and clothing. Wheelspins are rewarded from progressing through the story and completing certain seasonal challenges. Super Wheelspins, enhanced versions of Wheelspins with better prizes, are also given for completing parts of the story and seasonal challenges. Release9 November 2021GenreRacingModeSingle-player, multiplayerForza Horizon 5 is a 2021 racing video game developed by Playground Games and published by Xbox Game Studios. The twelfth main instalment of the Forza series, the game is set in a fictionalised representation of Mexico.
It was released on 9 November 2021 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Whether you're rocking the fully 4K-enabled powerhouse Xbox One X, the affordable Xbox One S, or even the original console, there are plenty of old and new Xbox games worth your time and cash. With every game compatible with the upcoming Xbox Series X and Series S, there's never been a better time to play these great titles. The Forza Horizon series has never had a bad entry, so imagine our surprise when Forza Horizon 5 scored an incredible 10/10 in our review. Mexico's landscape, even more impressive visuals, and a huge car list make Forza Horizon 5 not just the best racing game this year, but one of the best racing games of all time. If Doom's 2016 revival was dragging the granddaddy of FPS games into the modern era, Doom Eternal is that same, chainsaw-wielding ball of fury all grown up.
ID Software's sequel is bigger, brasher, and gorier than its predecessor. Its environments are more ambitious, its platforming is actually pretty fun, and it brings back the unique "push and pull" of combat that made the reboot so loved by newcomers and longtime fans alike. Any time you're not actively taking part in a race, you'll spend just as much time racing between venues around the substantial open-world as you will diving into the menus and customizing your rides. Each little tweak you do is instantly visibly represented on your vehicle and instantly adds to the unique appeal of each ride. Whether we'll see the itasha car designers jump in on day one will be an eager surprise to discover just how many Squid Game or Fate Grand Order rides we'll see on the Forza Horizon 5 marketplace.
For the final preview, we were given full access to the first hour of this year's Forza Festival set in a mildly fictionalized version of Mexico. From the very beginning, players are airdropped onto the landscape as they race to the festival, a series tradition. This time, players take the wheel of a pretty diverse assortment of vehicles, including a Ford Bronco, Toyota GT Supra, and Corvette Stingray Coupe. Doom Eternal is arguably the best single-player FPS campaign we've seen in the entire Xbox One generation.
As the enemies get bigger and nastier during the campaign, you get faster, smarter, and more powerful too. It's an incredible combat dance that's quite simply unlike anything else on Xbox One. Ori and the Will of the Wisps picks up the torch that Blind Forest lit in 2015 and carries it to new heights. The foundation was already there, but Moon Studios spent the five years between games building out a livelier world, a fully-loaded moveset with a new emphasis on combat, and another helping of bittersweet story. Respawn's slick gunplay came to life in an exciting new way when its battle royal Apex Legends first launched in 2019, and since then, it's only gotten better.
Not only can we expect a new Legend complete with story content and a neat kit, there's often also map changes , a weapon or mechanic, and quality of life updates alongside the battlepass. Those regular updates plus the occasional holiday event and addition of quests keep Apex Legends in our rotation. Additionally, players can opt to render the game in a 6K "supersampled" mode, which is then displayed at 4K resolution and 60fps. It's said that the benefit of this mode is an even higher level of visual fidelity, which outshines even that of the standard 4K mode.
